Ecollar Foundations

June 6,13th, & 20th

  • A woman playing fetch with a dog in a fenced park on a cloudy day, with trees and parked vehicles in the background.

    Training Foundations

A good first class —communication, structure, and relationship work.
This class teaches the core language we use throughout Good Dog Club CA. We focus on food work, markers, pressure + release, impulse control, handling, and building a dog who looks to their owner for guidance instead of the environment.

Great for: dogs of any age needing clarity + groundwork
Goal: a dog who understands how to learn and a handler who knows how to teach.

  • Girl standing on black rubber floor with a large dog lying down and looking up at her. The girl is holding a leash attached to the dog, and there is a plain beige wall with brown wooden trim in the background.

    Beginner Obedience

Start here for leash manners, listening skills, and everyday obedience.
Perfect for young dogs or beginners who need structure, this class covers foundational obedience and accountability inside distractions. We’ll work on focus, position, loose leash walking, stays, recalls, and building a calm state of mind at home + in public.

You’ll learn: how to give direction clearly, how to reinforce behaviors, how to structure the day
Your dog will learn: sit, down, place, leash manners, recall fundamentals, engagement around dogs

  • A man walking with a black dog on a leash in an indoor space with a black floor and a beige wall with wooden accents.

    Reactivity Class

Small-group coaching for dogs who struggle with reactivity, over-arousal, or big feelings.
This intimate class helps dogs learn to regulate emotions, disengage from triggers, and build trust through clear communication. We’ll work through setups in a controlled environment with distance, direction, and strategy—giving owners the skills to confidently navigate walks, dogs, people, and busy environments.

Ideal for dogs who: bark, lunge, shut down, struggle with dogs or people nearby
What you’ll learn: handling skills, timing, thresholds, creating space, calm exits, progress tracking

Small class size ensures focused support + individual coaching.

  • Pack Hikes

A structured adventure to build calm confidence, neutrality, and trail skills.
Our weekly Pack Hike is all about movement, leadership, and practicing obedience in the real world. Dogs work around others while keeping a loose leash, learning to hold space respectfully, and settling into a calm state of mind. These hikes are designed to build endurance, confidence, and connection with your dog—plus it’s a fun way to start the morning.

Perfect for: Dogs who have basic leash skills and want exercise + real-world practice.
What we work on: neutrality, recall practice (long line or e-collar), trail manners, engagement, exposure

  • Puppy Socialization

A safe place for puppies to build confidence, learn manners, and make good choices early on.
This class goes beyond playtime. We introduce controlled socialization, gentle exposure, handling, crate practice, basic obedience, and calm neutrality around other pups. Your dog will learn that the world is safe, people are kind, and structure builds confidence.

Best for: Puppies under 6 months
Skills Covered: exposure, recall foundations, marker training, polite play, crate comfort, calm engagement
Goal: confident puppies who can think—not just react.

  • Advanced Obedience

For teams ready to level up precision, duration, and real-world reliability.
We refine heel work, proof recalls, add distance/stay challenges, and work around heavier distractions. This is a polishing class for dogs who already have a foundation and need structure, refinement, and accountability.

Requirements: Basic obedience already in place
Focus: off-leash reliability, engagement under pressure, polished communication

  • Detection

Teach your dog to use their nose with purpose, drive, and accuracy.
Ideal for sport or working-minded dogs, this class develops hunt drive, indication behavior, scent sourcing, and problem-solving skills. Whether you want a fun hobby or are building toward sport titles, detection gives high-drive dogs an outlet that challenges mind + body.
